New National Centre for Oesphageal and Gastric Cancer announced

It has been announced that St James’s Hospital has been designated the National Centre for Oesphageal and Gastric Cancer with Professor John Reynolds appointed the Clinical Lead for Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer.

Galway University Hospital, Cork University Hospital and Beaumont Hospital have been chosen as the three Satellite Centres for oesphageal and gastric cancer care.
 
Within the coming weeks, ICORG is opening the 10-14 Study  – "Randomised Clinical Trial of neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy (MAGIC regimen) vs. neoadjuvant chemoradiation (CROSS protocol) in adenocarcinoma of the oesophagus and oesophago-gastric junction" at these four centres.
 
Professor John Reynolds has developed this study with ICORG and is its Chief Investigator.
