International Clinical Trials Day

Each year the International Clinical Trials Day is celebrated around the world on or near the 20th of May to celebrate the day that James Lind began his controlled trial comparing the different treatments for scurvy on the 20th May 1747.

Thanks to James Lind, carefully regulated clinical trials are currently the most effective way to establish which new treatments are beneficial for patients. International Clinical Trials Day provides a focal point to raise awareness of the importance of research.

ICORG currently has over 60 cancer clinical trials open in Ireland.
