Irish research in world’s largest oncology meeting

 

65 abstracts that include Irish cancer researchers have been included in The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2016 Annual Meeting which occurs in Chicago on June 3-7.

The ASCO Annual Meeting is the premier event in the oncology community and attracts 30,000 oncology professionals from around the world.

Posters and abstracts of number of trials which Cancer Trials Ireland has been involved in and active trials are included in the meeting’s proceedings.

The theme of this year’s meeting is Collective Wisdom: The Future of Patient-Centered Care and Research. This theme emphasises that the combined knowledge from various disciplines, cancer types, treatment approaches, and big data technologies is essential to progress.

With nearly 40,000 members the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) is the world’s leading professional organisation representing physicians who care for people with cancer.
